My name is PJ Walerysiak. I am a writer from Connecticut and an aspiring Narrative Designer in the video game industry.
Video games were the first form of art I can remember being exposed to — playing Super Mario Bros. 3 on the Super Nintendo on my fourth birthday. The medium had a grip on me even then, and over time I discovered that video games could offer far more than tight platforming. They could proffer entire worlds rich with complex stories and branching narratives.
I wanted to live in those worlds as a kid. As an adult I want to create them.
Thanks to series like Final Fantasy and The Legend of Zelda I developed a deep love of all fantasy and fiction, both in games and books. You name the genre and I’ll rattle off a book or game I admire within that genre; eldritch horror, epic fantasy, urban fantasy, historical fiction, romantasy, all of it.
Aside from writing and reading, I’m a fan of TTRPGs (specifically Dungeons and Dragons) and have been playing with the same crew for the past seven years. I enjoy making little games in Twine, being a swim coach, cooking, yoga, and hanging out with my wife.
